Youtube channel

I think you should have a youtube team, or at least start making youtube videos. The youtube channel is empty still..

Assuming the purpose of having a YouTube channel is to promote this forum, its only useful if you have your forum linked to your youtube videos and channel. Mostly linking your sites to your YouTube videos proves to be more valuable than your channel. So assuming the purpose of having a YouTube channel is to promote a forum its best to have your forum linked the actual videos. Now the next thing you need to think about is what kind of videos can you upload that are interesting enough to draw people to join your forum. You need a theme for the kind of videos you upload, something that is relevant to your forum.

For example, if you own a music site about the Beatles and you have a forum associated with your site, you would do well to upload videos that are related to the Beatles and put your Beatles website and forum link on the video or IN the video.

A forum without a connecting sister website or a particular subject matter will not get much publicity with YouTube. First you need videos that are relevant to your forum or website.

People that create YouTube channels only so they can put a link on there forum that goes to there YouTube channel have the idea backwards and are missing the point. The point of a YouTube channel is bring people FROM YouTube to your site or forum, not take people from your site or forum to YouTube. Which brings us back to the original point that you need to upload videos that are relevant to your website or forum. The more videos you upload that are linked to your website and forum the more publicity they get.

I own a music site about music star Avril Lavigne and I have well over 300 videos about her uploaded to YouTube, and my music site is linked to all of them. I get a lot of traffic to the music site 100's a day from YouTube, because the music site is what is linked to the videos. But the forum gets very little of that traffic because the forum is linked off of the music site and I am not promoting the forum in the same fashion, I am targeting people to the music site first. The forum is linked off of the music site so the interest to the forum is limited because the forum isn't necessarily about the music sites subject matter and is why the videos are linked to the music site.

So there you are, your YouTube channel will only draw you more visitors and possible new members to this forum if the videos you upload to it are relevant to the forum and linked to this forum. Since this forum doesn't appear to have a site associated with it and it stands alone by itself, you have to figure out a theme for the forum that you can target your videos towards. That's if you want to use YouTube to promote your forum, otherwise YouTube serves no purpose to this forum.

And like I said, putting your YouTube channel link on your forum does nothing substantial to promote your forum in any way, you need to bring people from YouTube to the forum not from the forum to YouTube. :)

By the way, where is the link to this forums youtube channel?

I don't find having a Youtube team very effective or needed as anybody can make videos and post them. So I don't think people should get a rank and respect for something like this.

I wasn't aware this forum had ranks for a YouTube team. So you can make videos? Lets see one.

No I meant, Why should they get a rank. I never said there was a Youtube Team or ranks for it. I also don't make very many videos.

Hm, I guess I forgot that was there, XD.

I think just keeping the you tube for advertising purposes will do fine for now. We really have no other use for it.
