Hey

Was thinking of a way I could kick off my venture on Overflow, so I decided I would make a thread of some of my pieces of art I have done in the past. I hope you enjoy!

Tonal Pencils

Charcoal and chalk

Pencil crayons

That's all I can find which I actually like. If I ever find some inspiration to do some more, I'll let you guys know. Cheers.

I appreciate the comment. As I said, these are about a year old. I haven't had many ideas as to what to draw for some time now, so I have been restricted to what I am made to draw at Uni.

I've always found the assignments in art classes to be rather restricting, myself. I've never quite understood why. However, they can be quite helpful at the same time. Additionally, I'll state that you have some impressive shading skills.

You've got quite a talent for expression(without the need for a human face, in fact), as well as a very wonderful color blend in the last two. This is great work, I find them all to be very impressive.

Thank you for sharing your art here! Awesome work.

Yeah they are very restrictive. The point of art is to express yourself, yet you're forced into doing certain topics which may be of no interest you.

The reason for the face, was that all my art work was based around tone, I spent so long getting everything else right, all of my attempts to draw something as unique as a face would all just crumble, I gave up after rubbing it out several times..

I'm not to keen on the last image, but I thought I would show a bit of diversity in my work haha. It's defiantly not my preferred style to work in (It's actually physically painful to press that hard with pencil crayons for so long!)

Thanks for the comments Leah!

What's the meaning of the first one? I'm curious about it.

It's not my own. I worked from a reference. The original piece was by M.C.Escher

This is amazing work. I can't stop looking at it! Have you considered entering it in an art fair?
